29-Harem Show

In many Muslim communities, it would normally be a eunuch who was entrusted with the responsibility for Harem’s safety and various needs. Even though these men were castrated, it only meant that their physical masculinity was impaired. However, feelings don’t die. At one stage in the show, two eunuchs come to the limelight and perform a lyrical dance with the head concubine. Choreography, costumes, hair and make-up are made by the permanent staff of the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet.
